National Marine Equipment Quality Inspection Center (hereinafter referred to as NMEI Center) is a national testing center identified in “The Development Plan for Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone” issued by the State Council as a support for the marine equipment industry. As the only comprehensive third-party public service platform for marine equipment inspection and testing in China, it is located in the core zone of the Oceanic Valley in Qingdao, covering an area of 71,800 square meters, boasting 8 laboratory buildings and 7 major function labs with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan. NMEI Center provides high quality professional solutions for various stages of the whole life cycle of products and equipment in design and development, production and manufacturing and operation and maintenance. NMEI Center has built seven domestically leading laboratories for the testing of subsea equipment, marine electricity, marine cables, new energy & power electronics, electromagnetic compatibility, environment and reliability and material analysis. It has won the CNAS (Laboratory Accreditation), CMA (Testing and Inspection Institution Accreditation), and DILAC (Defense Laboratory Accreditation), and was awarded the "Product Inspection and Test Institution" certificate by China Classification Society, qualified to provide systematic inspection and test solutions as well as over 5,000 inspection and test services for 12 key industries such as marine equipment, aerospace, rail transit, automobile and military industries.

About NMEI Co., Ltd.  

NMEI Co., Ltd. is the company behind NMEI Center. It was registered and established on February 15, 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qingdao NMEI Group Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 325 million yuan to ensure the independent and impartial operation of NMEI Center. The company changed its name from Qingdao NMEI Co., Ltd. to NMEI Co., Ltd. on June 19, 2017.

In cooperation with leading institutions and enterprises both at home and abroad such as DMAR Marine Engineering from the U.S., Xi’an High Voltage Electrical Equipment Institute Co., Ltd. and the Institute 702 of China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the NMEI company has established and been operating 7 high quality laboratories under the NMEI Center. The company currently has five functional departments, namely, the General Business Department, the Technical Quality Department, the Marketing Department, the Customer Service Center and the Safety Production Department. The company has 101 employees in total, and of all the technicians, 53% have PhD or master degrees and 48% hold senior and middle professional titles. Up to now, the company has obtained the CNAS (Laboratory Accreditation), CMA (Testing and Inspection Institution Accreditation), and DILAC (Defense Laboratories Accreditation) as well as the "Product Inspection and Test Institution" certificate from China Classification Society in the fields of metal materials, wires and cables, rubber and plastics, ores and minerals, petrochemical machinery, military and civilian equipment, electrical and electronic products, non-metallic materials for cables, etc., qualified to provide over 5,000 inspection and test services for many an industry such as marine equipment, rail transit, automobiles and marine new energy. At present, the company has presided over or participated in the revision of 23 international, national and industrial standards.
